You are not alone!  Whether you or someone you love is dealing with a dementia or memory loss diagnosis, Council on Aging offers multiple programs and services that support individuals and families who are dealing with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and memory loss. Community Care-Giving

Community Care-Giving is a free, confidential service for St. Johns County residents and their families. The program provides tools that promote and empower a positive and successful caregiving experience in an effort to improve the health and well-being of caregivers and their loved ones. Services include one-on-one assessment of person-centered needs, educational workshops, caregiver support groups, self-care activities, and caregiver and loved one activities and events. IMEP™ Integrative Memory Enhancement Program

Created by Council on Aging, IMEP™ is a dynamic and innovative response to memory loss. A structured, research-based program, IMEP integrates the mind, body, and brain connections to boost cognitive reserve and minimize the progression of memory loss or dementia. IMEP employs specific cognitive and physical exercises designed for seniors, and utilizes healing modalities that support overall brain and body function. Click here to learn more.

Sunshine Center Adult Day Care

The Sunshine Center, licensed by AHCA #9081, and VA approved, is COA’s therapeutic adult day care center in St. Augustine, Florida, offering care for adults with a focus on assisting individuals with memory problems. Participants enjoy skilled care, nutritious meals, exercise, socialization, and activities all geared toward improving the lives of those dealing with memory loss, brain trauma, Alzheimer’s disease, or other forms of dementia. Ponte Vedra Memory Care Center

The Ponte Vedra Memory Care Center is a valuable resource for individuals to proactively address memory loss or dementia through participation in COA’s Integrative Memory Enhancement Program, IMEP™. A light-hearted atmosphere, authentic dialogue, and engaging social interaction are the hallmarks of each and every IMEP class. The program provides a dignified, supportive, and non-judgmental environment in a relaxed classroom setting that encourages camaraderie. Click here to learn more.

Memory Cafés

Memory Cafés are social gatherings where people experiencing cognitive challenges and the people who care about them attend together for friendship, fun, and acceptance. The events are held monthly at multiple locations in St. Johns County and there is no cost to attend.
